UNITED 777-200 In 1980, United announced the purchase of 34 new jetliners to be known as the 777, now familiar as the 'Triple Seven'. It was designed largely to United's specifications and was to be powered by two 90,000 lb. Pratt & Whitney PW4084 turbofan engines. Imagine! That is four times the power produced by all eight Pratt & Whitney piston engines on the Hughes Flying boat! In April 1995, the first United 777 made a round-the-world demonstration flight and the markings for this plane are included on the enclosed decal sheet. #14483 -1/144 Scale
